This past weekend my daughter was playing ultimate frisbee at the Las Colinas polo fields and I was next to the river!! Saturday morning caught a few cats ranging from 14 inches to 23 inches. The big one gave me a work out especially since I'm 2 months out from a double mastectomy, but I reeled him in!! Wish I could figure out how to post my picture of them.

Welcome to the greatness that is Elm Fork fishing. As for your double mastectomy, I am the husband of a breast cancer survivor, and although not as radical as what you went through, anyway you look at it, it is NOT a day at the ballpark.
Way to go, wait till you tangle with one of those 20 lb plus channels or a 30 plus blue, or a 40 plus flathead!

Howdy folks:I've enjoyed reading all these posts on the Elm Fork.I usually target catfish. It sounds like I would be in the right place. So,I've noticed almost all these posts about the 'where' and 'what' are written in the spring. So,where are the cats in the Elm Fork in the fall?I'm definitely not new to this,I just want to make the most efficient use of my time away from wifey and work.I have no boat, btw. I've fished:Richland Chambers(favorite, but really low this year),Tawakoni(skunked, but it was mid August),Benbrook,Randol Mill Park(ok),Chisholm Park(not the best luck this year, better before). Your suggestions welcome (even if they involve another body of water besides the Elm Fork.)

Been hitting the Elm Fork as well the past couple of weeks and hooking nothing but LMB, nothing to write home about but I know there has to be some lunkers in there...
What I am really after are the crappie but the LMB sure are fun

I have been catching crappie, and keeping a few at that. There have been a lot of ditch pickles hitting my jig, so they go back for a swim. I am going for the fourth time this week tomorrow...10/10/13... Good luck me! Been hitting the Elm Fork as well the past couple of weeks and hooking nothing but LMB, nothing to write home about but I know there has to be some lunkers in there...
