if anyone can recall last june, i posted a fish from a pond in waco that i clocked in at 2 pounds. last month, i caught a 2 1/2 pounder on my home lake on a buzzbait. i was so estatic that i could close my eyes for a milisecond and see that fish hit the buzzbait. now this morning, early, approx. right at dawn, i caught the biggest bass of my life. i saw it burst some shad between floating grass and standing reeds, so i cast over just for ^E@*!s and giggles, and man, i did not giggle. from an eye witness report, i was 100% serious with it. thats good to hear, that means improvment. anyway, the fish hit my hollow body frog, from evolve lures. still being dark, all i saw was the white of the water, after hearing the most beautiful noise known to frog fisherman. this may seem strange, but time slowed down as i lowered my medium action falcon lowrider, with 20 pound spiderwire (i know, i know), and slammed the rod to the 10:30 position. so, like a turtle when you throw a rock at it, i was off, rod straight up and heart beating so fast the kayak shook. i eventually got the quite loquacious fish up, and in the yak, after being dragged some 20 feet. the water temp was extremely hot, being a pp lake. the fish killed my frog. it had the back left hook right behind the tongue patch, dangerously close to the gills, but not quite. after a few pics and my yak looking like a wes craven movie, the fish was off. at first, i was discomforted, because the fish seemed to die, but then, sploosh! and all my worries went away. sorry for the long read, im still exasperated...
