Myself, Mike "USMC_GY" and Fred "Rionator" took a trip up to Boerne and fished the Boerne Lake, Cibolo Creek, and Guadalupe River. We started at 7am and fished till 3pm. Fishing was Good. First stop was Boerne Lake. Several nice Blue Gills in the 7 to 9 inch range were caught. Also some Redbreast in the 7 to 8 inch range rounded off the catch. Second stop was the Guadalupe River just north of Boerne. Fishing was fair with a lot of small Longear being caught. One Rio in the 7 inch range was also caught. We broke for lunch at the "Dog and Pony Grill" located in Boerne. The food was fantastic along with the atmosphere. We finished fishing at the Cibolo Creek nature center and the fishing was good. A bunch of nice Redbreast in the 7 inch range were caught along with several nice Bluegill in the 7 inch range. Mike caught a nice Bass 15 inches in length. Rounded off the catch was several nice Rios in the 8 inch range. Approx. 50 fish were caught during the day. All fish were healthy and fat. The water in all three areas was clear, muddy, (due to recent rain) and stained. The creek,lake,and river were in very good condition. All fish were caught on drop shop methods,bottom techniques, and using a float. Worms and artificial baits were used. All fish were released to fight again. Hill country fishing with friends. It just don't get any better!

Love photo #1. Nice Catch and as always a super report. Great fishing guys. Looks like the Rios are still guarding nest! Also nice to hear that the Hill Country got a little rain. Wish we would get a inch or two here in San Antonio and South Texas!

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Those Cypress trees at the waters edge make for one heck of a picture! You are right the Rios are still on nest! and yes we do need some rain here in the San Antonio area. (Rain Dance)


Side Note: It was good to see the Fredricksburgh,Blanco area getting some rain the other day!

Thanks guys for the replies. "Cypher" you cannot put a kayak in at the nature center. You can put in at Boerne Lake. There is even a Kayak ramp.

The fish pictured were caught on a beetle spin or curly tail grub on a 1/32nd oz jig head.
