Got a pic of a Southlakes special below after being on ice... This was the largest of 4 caught that night. The last time I went to the LL barge, crappie/white bass action had slowed A LOT plus none of the regulars were present, so one would have to assume that the action is slowing because of the time of year. Correct me if I'm wrong. Guess I'll have to focus more on LMB and catfish now. Don't really need any info on catfishing as far as channels go, but as for LMB, I have my senkos w/ hooks for both wacky and texas rigs, spinner/buzz baits, swimbaits, soft plastic lizards/frogs, and flukes. I am going to reup on some Kelly worms as well. Anything else I need to add to the tacklebox? I also only know of the barge, Southlakes, and the boathouses on LL by the 35E bridge near Lake Dallas as far as locations go. The dog park lake doesn't look too bank friendly as far as I can tell from my one and only visit. I still haven't checked out Nork Lakes yet, but plan on it in the near future along with the Montecito pond. Any other suggestions for LMB locations? Dunno length and weight. No excuse for not having a length as I own a tape measure, but I need to invest in a scale for sure.

Dangit! I was planning to go to the barge today or tomorrow. Still might head out there... but if the crappie don't bite i'm going for carp. A lot of people don't like Grapevine for bank fishing but I have always had good luck there, especially with bass. Twin Coves is a great place to star for any species, not the marina, but the park. Mcpherson Slough is a good spot as well.

Thanks for the info! I'm not too familiar with Grapevine... Are these places on the bank fishing google map listed in the top thread on Bank Fishing? If so, will my lure selection suffice or do I need to seek out something else? Thanks again for everything

Ok... So I stopped by the montecito pond this morning for about an hour... I tried buzzbaits, senkos t-rigged, and flukes with not so much as even a nibble... I worked the edges of the pads... Is it safe to assume that this is a bass free zone?

Twin Coves Marina is but Mcpherson Slough is not. They are both easy to get to though, I can give you directions if you would like. I have had luck with every type of fish at McPerson Slough so whatever type of fish you want to target I would just get your favorite bait or lure. McPherson Slough is by all the boathouses, kinda like the ones at Lewisville off of I-35, but I like this place better. I have had excellent luck with bass here so whatever lures you like I would bring them. Also Grapevine has a few smallies as well so you could end up with a nice surprise other than largemouths or spotted. Also another bank spot I like is the marina at Lake Ray Roberts. Not for bass but in the summer I have had great crappie/catfish luck. Hope this helps.

Maybe I'm getting old boys, but its getting too damn hot for me, its tollerable for a few hours in the morning or late at night, but other than that its too hot. By the time it cools off a bit, I will be shooting birds!

Don't look like this week is going to be any better.

I'd stay away from northlakes for a while, there was a report this week of mosquitoes from that area testing positive for the west nile virus.
