Disgusting for sure. I'm all for having fun but being totally irresponsible is absurd. I'm afraid the trashing is a reflection of the values of these creatures. Do they finally become responsible citizens? Some maybe, but I doubt it. They just propagate and create more of the same.

Well the trash started to slowly show up around 10:00 am. Around noon after the previous days booze wore off the trash bite really started to pick up. Buy 3:30 it was a full blown feeding frenzy of boze and no telling what else.

As far as fishing goes caught several in between dodging wake boards boats and water fleas.

Yep. Was pretty crowded. Have not been out in quite some time. Apparently the flats is a hot spot for more than fishing also. Lots of boats over there as well.

I might have to go into hibernation until the children go back to school.

Anybody ever see any response from Bell County Leo's or the Corps concerning the happenings at TLP ???

Any of the other Lake Belton Parks with similar issues?? I've been thru this BS too many times before to sign up for another tour of duty.

We have been trying to sell our place here at Lake Texoma and move down there since we looked at the place across the street from SallySue this time last year, and spent 2 more days looking at every thing else in 76513 I could find in our price range. Been online looking hard couple times a week in the Woodlands and MPR primarily, and almost had one bought on Woodland Trail but was a day late and dollar short. OBTW the Realtor down there that SallySue suggested, Carolyn Copeland, has been super to work with.

This partyparty takeover thing sure is a common problem around parks with water access anywhere LEO's are not motivated either by interested neighbors or by the inevitable tragic events that always happen.
Back in summer of '10, one guy here took such a severe beating that he is now totally disabled...for asking that the music be turned down a little...but the DA LEO's charged his buddy with illegal discharge of a firearm when he fired a shotgun in the air to get the 13 man mob to back off from stomping the snot out of his defenseless semi concious buddy who was face down on the ground....and no one in mob was ever charged with anything. Something like that IS gonna happen down there at some point...and everbody involved will go "we dinnit mean to hurt nobody ...we was just havin fun".

We had the exact same party party 24x7x365 out of control "stuff" in the tiny COE neighborhood day use park & on our private boathouse's in front of my house until the Corps finally helped us by giving us enough used hwy railing & a survey line on where to put the fence line ...and a couple of us pony'd up the other material and did the labor ourselves to build a concrete reinforced fence from creek to creek of better than 4-500'+ long on either side of the park...and cut out 99% of the vehicular traffic totally....motorcycles are still a problem sometimes though. I used to call the Grayson County Sheriff's Office 5 nites a week minimum ... 35-40+ weeks a year ...and now I have only had to call them twice this year...but they have also put this area on a steady random patrol watch. THAT WORKS for sure!

The Corps here at Texoma has already closed several multi hundred acre improved Parks around the Lake...but it seems like it always took somebody getting killed at each location to force them to take that kind of action...and I think the incident in front of my house in mid December of '10 that came reallllly close to a "tragic event" is what finally prompted the Corps to work with us on closing the vehicle traffic from this unimproved park where I live after the fence was finished in March of '11. Last year during the drought I pulled almost 200 gallons of busted beer bottles and crushed cans off the 500 yards wide x 25-30 yards deep beach in front of the tiny 3-4 acres of park that is now behind the fence....one 5 gallon bucket at a time by my self, other neighbors addressed the park itself the same way. The last big partyparty was July 4th of '10, when I counted 79 car loads of drunks in the park down at the waters edge...no more of that goes on anymore....drunks are too lazy to walk 100 yards to the waters edge.
