how do you get to a bank fishing spot on elm fork. as in what crossroads etc... i would love to check it out

California crossing.....however its a little ghetto

i've been meaning to try the area behind haggar out.. .. is it usually good or mostly slow

oh ok yeah i saw where that california crossing is, sorry to ask but what is haggar? a school? these spots are not too far away and i just want to clarify so i can check them out. thanks

went behind haggar after work today... saw a ton of gar swimming around....only caught a soft shelled turtle and a few bass... no catfish bites on my minnow... maybe im not getting my line out far enough....

For the cats out there cut shad (if you can get it) has been my best producer with livers right behind it. No need to cast far out in the middle.

Cats at Haggar love chicken liver and live night crawlers. No need to cast far out, as Anthony says. They are still a few in the rocks spawning. Bass, mostly small are active there even in the heat due to the waves of shad that form a ribbon like line along the rocks right on the shore.

Gar are abundant, as are carp, and buffalo.

There are some GIGANTIC soft shell turtles there as well. Unfortunately, they have a sweet tooth for the chicken liver too.

Now that we are in SUMMER, the sandies should start surfacing there soon(remember the shad i just mentioned). When you see em, toss a Tiny Trap at em, and have you some fun! They are pretty good sized sandies for the most part.

Haggar is the Corporate Offices of Haggar Slacks, on Luna road, about 2 blocks south of 635.

That's where the river get's real wide and turns into a small pond/lake right? I think I have fished there before but didn't know it was a part of the trinity.

i've been to haggar twice and have caught a catfish, 2 sandies, a 3 ft gar and a couple of decent black bass. i think there is about every fish in there. even crappie i hear. saw some guys in a john boat puttering around too. clean place. keep it that way

I have caught bluegills, warmouth, greenies, longears, black and spotted bass, sand bass, hybrid striper, crappie, blue and channel cat, and have seen some big flatheads taken, gar, carp, buffalo, drum,and even a stray yellow bass now and then. so yeah it does have pretty much everything that swims in local waters in it.

If grapevine still has smallies in it, i would not doubt that once upon a time when the gates were wide open, there may even be a smallie or two hanging around there. Never know, that is what makes river fishing pure greatness!
