I have a good knot for flourocarbon knot, the problem is when I cut the tag ends off I have 3. It is the strongest knot I have ever tied for a single bait. However if I want to leave a long main tag end to alter my bait or presentation, The 3 tag ends causes problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Tight Lines and Heavy Nets.

San diego jam knot. Did side by side tests against polymar on flouro and it won out every time. However polymar won every time on mono

either the x2 sdj or double clinch. I find the dc to be faster and easier to tie. the palomar is a great knot. i don't use it with fluoro or braid, though. see the thread from last week re: "r u setting the hook too hard? That would be me. A Palomar with either of the aforementioned lines WILL slip and come unravelled on you if you have a fast and violent hookset. We're talking up close and personal presentations with a broomstick and braid or heavy F, only.

Im actually quite the opposite of late, since Ive been tying the sdj more often, I suppose Ive gotten more accustomed to it and therefore tie it quicker. I will still tie the double clinch however, and it is a fantastic knot as well.

go with whatcha know, bro! That's key too... this is merely my non-professional opinion.. if you cannot properly tie a knot, it wont do you any good. If you KNOW how to tie a knot, and can do so in a fashion where the knot is at its full "holding" potential, if you will, then run with it. Tie it. Practice OTHER knots, off the water, with spare (old) line until you perfect them, and can tie them with confidence.

DOUBLE SAN DIEGO KNOT. Go to you tube and search Mark Pack. Great video of how to tie it.

I use a palomar on everything. Just leave about a 1/4" tag end and you are good to go. Have used this up to a 33 lb. flathead cat and have had no problems.

Double clinch, you can drag a tree with it.
