Last time I checked, the good Lord doesn't plan the weather based soley on a two line sentence I typed regarding my dissappointment in not being able to take my kids to the lake to go noodling because of a storm.

It's Texas, droughts happen. If you like rain, I would suggest moving to Seattle, or performing a rain dance. Alhough I tried the rain dance thingy last year, it didn't work very well. Maybe I didn't follow the instructions given to me by wikipedia properly. Tried like hell though.

But... I digress.

HaHa bubba I'm 40 years from retiring, but I live further west than you and I can literally watch the water in my favorite fishing lakes drop from day to day. One of my childhood favorites is nearly dry, soon the fish will start to die I'm sure, I haven't seen it this low my whole life. I wish you the best on your fishing this weekend though.

Heck, you should've called me, I would take anyone in TX if they were to just cover my cost to come down. Was going to come down and go with Bullet last weekend till my son got sick. Would have saved you a bundle. Could have got some of the guys that want me to take them down there together and split my gas. Don't care if I make a dime as long as I'm not out of pocket too much. That is the hole reason I'm gonna guide down there next year. Don't really care if I come out ahead or not as long as I get paid trips to TX every weekend.LOL.

When and if they do get my guns...they will most definitely be hot and empty.

Only got one fish the weekend we sunk my boat. It was a 37. The largest fish I have ever touched in my life was in that lake though. Tour me up pretty bad and got away.

I only target flatheads. I like to eat them more than blues and channels, so thats what were after. We do occasionally pull a big blue if we find one, but those are always CPR'd. I have pulled several fish out of lewisville in the 50's and 60's though. Even had on there that went in the 70 lb range. It was the mate to the monster I had get away. We released her after a photo.

Well over 80. Its pretty typical to find the males to be 20 or so pounds bigger at times. So he could have been over 90. Had most of my head in his mouth at one point. Pretty hard to wear around those kind of bite marks and not have gotten him. I'm fairly sure his female went 74 + or - a pound or so. At any rate he wooped my a>>. And yes, sorry, it was a flathead. A blue that big would have probably broke my neck.

Yep, I'm out. But I am still absolutely fascinated with noodling since Mudcats came on. Love that show, I see it hasn't been mentioned in this thread, so I'm wondering if the noodling community doesn't like the show or what? I just don't have the nads to do it. I will however watch from the safety of a boat. Hey hands only, have you ever noodled Cedar Creek Lake? I wouldn't think it would be great for noodling since there aren't alot of ledges or anything like that, but I could be wrong.

Not an every day occurance for sure. First time it has ever happened to me. I was aware that it was a pair of monsters though. That is what a stick will tell you. Felt like 2 baby dolphins in the whole. Trust me when I say that I went in there expecting a battle. The guy that was holding my feet said it felt like I was gettin ate by a gator or something. I WILL be visiting this hole again sooner than later!

Yes sir. The first fish we found and pulled there went 68lbs. Also found several in the 40 to 50 range. It is my second favorite lake in TX. The only thing was, we had to use scuba to get most of them. I think TX will outlaw scuba next year, I may be wrong though.
