Hey TFF, I'm looking to go to Falcon before the summer ends. I want to go with a guide, and would like some suggestions on a great guide, who won't break the bank, who's great at giving info and input about Falcon, and just an all around good guy who can give us a day of (35+ 3-5lbs fish) with some BIG fish included. I want to get worn out by nothing but fish! I know this isn't always 100% guarantee, but I'd like to have a guy that could give me the best chance of those circumstances. BTW my dad will be going along as well. Thanks for the info.

Young man there are no guarantees in fishing, not even at Falcon, you have to crawl before you can walk. Take txwhitetail's advice and plan on going out and learning a few things and mabe if you get lucky you and dad will catch some fish along the way.

Oh and by the way, a 5 lb fish is a big fish and there are no guarantees in life either......just sayin.

There are a bunch of excellant Falcon guides here on the TFF, I'm sure they will be chiming in shortly.

Call Jim Behnken, (210) 414-8048, his fee is the same as other guides (they're all about the same $400 a day. He'll bust his tail to put you on the fish, make you laugh along the way, and prob teach you a technique or two you can use down the road. Your expectations are high, but on falcon, def attainable. August is great month down there. Good luck and have a blast!

That was just general information. I know any guide we choose for Falcon will be able to put us on fish, I just don't know who to choose, and was looking for suggestions. I'd love nothing more than to go out, have a good time, and learn some things. Who wouldn't? That's exactly what I'm looking for. I don't need someone who's perfect, I just want a good guide. Those were just things I'd love to see from a guide, but if he doesn't have it, then that's totally fine, as long as we have a good time.(I also believe I said "I know this isn't always guaranteed".....) With the chosen lake being Falcon, there's pretty much NOT a chance that WON'T have a great time and catch some good fish, it's Falcon. LOL

Guys! I know nothing's guaranteed! Maybe I went about the post in a wrong way, I'm human, I make mistakes. I just wanna go have a good time and catch some fish. All I'm asking is for some good suggestions in guides. I'm not perfect, I made a mistake. Let it go and move on.

Try some more searching, I bet you can find some more.

Ronnie Kelly 903-574-5796 is a great guide on Fork and Falcon when he goes there and I hear he may be going again this summer so you may give him a call and ask.

Now I have heard a lot about him, seems to be one of the best.

Jim Behnken says he's $500 per day on his website. ouch!
I've gone every year with top notch guides, all but one ( the flood in '10 ) since '08.
always go in June and I can tell you there is NO guarantee that you will catch numbers or DD's. The more days you fish the better the odds. Seems we always have at least one slow day out of the three, being able to flip or pitch accurately is very important too . That and the wind can ruin a trip real quick.
Tommy Law or Jim Edwards are both good and still $400 I believe

http://www.tackleandrods.com/lake/guides.htm

here is a link of the local guides on Falcon....We all have our strengths and on any given day can put you in position to have the trip of a lifetime. If I can give just one piece of advice....come with an open mind and enjoy being on the number 1 lake in the country whether you boat 117 fish or boat 20. (the high and low fish total from my last month plus a few days on the water)

Gl with whoever you choose and if I can help don't hesitate to call, text, message, or email.

Jay
