Anyone catching any bass at Joe Pool? Shallow or deep?

Small ones shallow bigger ones are deep. you may get lucky and pull an over shallow but chances are slim. Good luck.

Thanks, going to try it in the morning early before all the traffic gets out there.

Yes, and the smaller fish in the grass are just about gone now. I caught 3 in 12 to 15 feet of water this morning, but the wind was howling and it was real crowded. I'm gonna wait till the weekend is over.

Caught several in the submerged weed beds in the 2lb range over the weekend. Nothing huge but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lots of pond weed, but very sparse amounts of hydrilla. The bigger fish have always pulled back and headed out deeper around mid-May. With the pond weed, you should be able to find fish up to 2 lbs. more shallow - at least early.

I've been fishing lots of weed beds on joe pool, and catching lots of fish until recently. The weeds are long and stringy, leaves are long and mostly brown. I know its not as thick as it can get, but I thought that was Hydrilla. Is it not? What do pondweed look like ?

fish the long shelf that extends out from the dam with carolina rig or drop-shot. hydrilla is flourishing on it too.

The wind is your friend. So are the weeds.

We've been going for about 5 hours at a time and catching small bass in the weeds and some in the timber just inside the coves. The wind makes the spinnerbait, senko and topwater bite come alive.

When the wind subsides the fish seem to still be there just slow down and fish a small worm in the weeds.

Tiffany and I have been catching about 15 per trip and the last trip found one that was maybe an over.
