I had a buddy try noodling and got him a nice snapping turtle, nearly tore his thumb off.

OP Hands Only! Angler H Joined: May 2012 Posts: 459 Oklahoma	I generally keep my hand off the bottom about 4 or so inches, I try to keep my hand flat with my thumb pointed down. Sometimes this will keep a big fish from swallowing you to the armpit. I try to wear wacky colored gloves as well. Depends on the fish as far as how long they will hold on.
