The new 2012 Series is much lighter....and super tough.

I have been using a 7.0 Heavy that i bought for jig fishing. Decided to try it for c-rig and it is working absolutely great. Its a good $100 rod IMHO.

I can only testify to their fly rods but if the quality and performance is on the same level you won't be dissapointed

i bought one of the TFO rods at the legends tourny on fork and although it seems the fish dont wanna touch anything that i throw with that rod i go like the way it feels and have not had any problems flipping jigs into the grass and ripping fish out if you want to stay cheaper than the TFO you might look at the berkley lighting rod for a flipping stick i have one and must say it has impressed me in the aspects of ripping fish out of the heavy stuff on jigs ect

I have 6 TFO rods, if you break it no questions asked its $35 to fix it. Only broke 1 it was my fault.
I think they are great rods, and they actually run a little stiff. All I will buy from now on is dobyns and TFO's
The tactical series are worth the additional $50.

Look at the Powell rods they appear To be in your price range. And there it is.......This post went a lot longer than I thought before someone told him to buy another brand besides the one he was asking about. LOL.....

As of right now he still has no new rod nor any money back and this was three weeks ago. Tell your friend to call TFO direct at 800.638.9052. They'll do what they can to help. TFO takes a lot of pride in their customer service and quick response time is one of their top priorities.

I have 5 of the TFO rods in all lengths and weights, and caught tons of fish on all of them. I had one problem with the longer heavy rod, called them direct and they took care of it quickly! Ring them up...they will take care of you.

Thats not the problem, because he has had 2 in a row that were no good he doesnt trust them (Nor would I) and just wants his money back so he can get a different brand. What would the difference to the shop be in 1. giving him his money back, sending broke rod back and getting new one to put on rack to sell and 2. sending the rod back and getting him a new one. To me it would not be a big loss to a tackle shop to try and make the customer happy, especially one that spends a few thousand bucks in your shop every year.

I have 4 of the TFO rods. I am very hard on rods, they are tough and sensitive, I think there great rod for the money. I have replaced all but 1 of my Allstar rods with them.

Jav, the problem with option one, most companies will charge you 30-70 dollars for a replacement rod shipped.
