After my son got hung in a tree, I asked him if he saw one jump up there. Once I saw his expression, I never said it again. On another trip, I got hung up, guess what he said. I love fishing with my boys!

Oh yeah, Had the Grand Challenge won in OK in 2006 until my partner blurted this one 10 mins before weigh in. "Why is there only half a boat key on the float in the floorboard?" That was 10 mins after he stumble into the dash of my Ranger. We weighed our fish even though we were DQd. We had it by 3 lbs.

after someone chunks their lure up in a tree and it gets stuck i say "they say to fish the trees, but i think its supposed to be in the water!!!" so that may be my buddies least favorite saying..

"Thank you Lord" Don't think Jesus is in the business of making big fish bite so that Elite series guys can win tournaments. If you notice all the fisherman Jesus interacted with in the Bible ended up catching lots of fish but were doing terrible prior. I think giving credit to Jesus is alright. I know I would have asked Him what he was doing at 5 o'clock

If I'm fishing for dinner and catch a big fish I'd thank the lord. If I'm fishing to throw a big fish in the livewell, bounce it around all day, put it in a sack and weigh it then put it back in the lake then I'm thanking the fish.

15 minutes into the start of the tournament and your partner says "I gotta take a chit" I know that guy. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a place to get him to the bank on Lake Livingston. Someone already said my favorite... "I swung for the fences today!" It's the perfect excuse for a zero. It's not that you couldn't find or didn't catch any fish. No, you could have caught plenty of those "common" fish caught by all the lesser anglers. But not you. You were swinging for the fences...
