Have you noticed the middle aisle display of no name lures and hooks at Walmart? I had to try the wide gap hooks on my beavers, they looked pretty good. I tried them out and seem to be an excellent hook....actually I kinda like them better than the name brands. The shape of the point has a little offset in them that hides real well. caught several fish including a 6#'r and never lost one. Seem strong too and a 1/3 of the price.

I have been looking at those products and was wondering if they were any good. With my fishing budget getting a little tighter these days, might have to seriously give them a try. Thanks for posting.

Ive been thoroughly impressed with the improved selection of baits and gear at Wal Mart. Hope they continue to grow and expand the outdoors section.

I bought some of the vicious shakeyheads. JUNK. I broke 4 hooks at the bend and that was enough for me. I bought them for practice heads, but they did not hold up for me.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

I'll stick with the eagle claw lazer sharp hooks for mine, box at wally world is only 5.00 and you get 25 I think. 4/0 and 5/0 are some of the best worm hooks I have ever used, don't miss many hooksets with these. good wide bend in them and hide good in worms

" Hop, set the hook"!

I don't think so. I believe they use the same Rep Group for sales...
