I think its way it sits in the water when idle and the bottom looks like scales.
Whatever it catches 4 to 1 over the others.

I don't disagree with what Fouz posts very often. I just don't see where they out perform some of the other brands of pop-r's.If you've fish very long at all then you know baits you believe in out perform the others.

i have recently been "lucky" enough to have come across a two in a boat i recently bought, i have been throwing them constantly and have yet to see a ridiculous difference. the colors are not my favorite, one is kinda dark on top orange on the bottom, the other is kinda rainbow colored. But like I said I have not seen a difference in fish biting it. what type of rod and line are u guys throwing the yellas on?

cborden, pls don't be afraid to disagree with ME, of all people. Yes, I'm an admin. but I'm darned sure no expert bass fisherman. I'm strong in my opinions, you and the rest of our members should be, as well. Without worrying about reprisal. Disagree, state your case and add to the discussion. No one's going on the hot seat for that.

I will agree that we all have confidence baits. If you don't, you're casting more than catching. And, while I used to employ TW's in my late-spring thru fall arsenal almost every day, I'd say I throw a tw lure less than 1% of the time.

Yellow Magics are simply the best I have found in that style of topwater. No sponsorship or anything else. I pay full retail just like the rest of you. And I do so, gladly. I also share with ya'll when I find something I consider to be above all others. This is one of the very few.

I've seen it proven too many times by folks with varying levels of experience. A YM will out fish a Pop-R 4-to-1, assuming it's not Zell-Pop on the other end of the PR rolfmao

IMO- It is all about the amount of water it spits. It is almost like a small crappie that is slapping the surface. They will catch more fish. The hooks suck, but they may be why it spits so well. I can not tell you how many I own with the hooks that look like they have been through the ringer. The hooks are very light.

I have posted this before, and I'm pretty sure that it is true...a whole lot of explosions while the thing has been sitting still have me thoroughly convinced...as well as the fact that Mahfouz loves 'em...

...and sadly....I, as well, pay full price for these plugs....that are well worth it

It's all in the difference in feathers on the back hook...subtle, but the real feather on the YM is more lifelike.

Say what? We talkin' duck or chicken feathers, here? Kidding.

Maybe it is the profile, underneath, lifelike scale pattern, feathers, the way it rests, tail down, head up in the water. All excellent points. Like I said, I dunno.

IF you can find a "Huckleberry", you should gladly trade 6 Pop-R's Tuesday for a Yellow Magic, today.

I had never heard of a Yellow Magic until my last client talked about them. I have heard of Ricos, but not YM's. Gonna have to google it.

Only thing is, Jay, you're gonna have to use the 1.5 oz version on that lake of yours...
