No my dogs stay home but I did have a partner that I called Spike he was all over the boat front back left right I never knew where I could cast without hitting or hooking him.

If dad fishes with me his blue heeler "cowboy" is in the boat no matter what ... Also the tractor, truck , rhino, on the bull dozer it doesn't matter what dad does he is right beside him... Even takes him deer hunting.

I would love to take my lab....but I would spend more time getting him out of the water than fishing. That dog will retrieve marker buoys, lures, if its in the water he goes and gets it. If there is nothing in the water he jumps in anyway

I've gotta couple Schnauzers that love to go and they have life jackets as well. We found one of the life jackets at the marina @ Lake Murray Ok. and ordered the other one off the internet. I got a 13 week old schnauzer that has 3 fishing trips under his belt already. He loves it.
