I fish because I love it !...there is just something special about getting out in God's creation and escape man's crazy creation...there is nothing like idling into a cove early in the morning with mist rising from the water, dead calm not a ripple on the water, the birds a chirp'n, you look around and in the dim light everything looks black and white before the sun finally gets above the tree's...the smells are fresh...you chuck a buzz-bait out along the grass line and start winding it in, then "KABOOSH" that nasty 'ol Largemouth busts your bait and it's on !!!! IMO,it just doesn't get any better than that ! Damn man, you need to write Hallmark cards!! Couldnt have said it better. Well unless i was reading it off one of your Hallmark cards!

I love the competition. Everytime I go fishing it's me against the fish. It relaxes me and keeps me out of trouble to and it's what I love

I fish because I can. I fish because I love the anticipation of a fish taking my bait and running with it. I fish because I feel like I can honor God with less distractions. I fish because I'm an addict. Yessir Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some people go fishing and think about God

It is like crack. That feeling you get when you feel a bite, set the hook, and something pulls back, releases some kind of special endorphin to which I am particularly susceptible. I want that feeling. More! More!

Main reason: My old man taught me to. Other reasons: Adrenaline and the good friends I've met....along the way (hey).

I guess 50 years of Bass fishing has hardened my heart so to speak. In my teens, the coolest thing I could do was to bring home a nice stringer of fish. From my 20's on it became a competitive obsession. Each tournament was the greatest passion that anyone could have. Now, I just can't bring myself to go and fish for 5 bites a day. I wish all that money was in the bank. What I really would have changed over the years is saving those weekend trips and putting them into a few good trips to Mexico each year; where we catch over 100 per day. Catching 50 Bass over 5 lbs. per day is where that passion lies now.

I fish for two or three different reasons but the most important one is this. When I get the boat in the water and turn around to head out on the lake the worries melt off my shoulders into a puddle on the floor.I am in my own little world and I am on my personal island.I am free, free to open my eyes and embrace all that is in the world in front of me. Time has no meaning as the day passes without slowness or speed but at a pace that is undetectable. And when the day nears the end I always wonder where the time went.
