IMO, Skeeter or Ranger. The Legend, Champion, and Basscat have to much side to side movement.. I guess what I mean is a little less stable of a fishing platform. I dont know if thats from a more narrow beam or just the deeper "V" in the hull those other boats feature... what I know for sure is that having been on each of those brands in the 18-19ft length, the Skeeter and Ranger are WAY more stable. +1- From a champion owner- I am pretty young and nimble and have been close to swimming more than a few times-

Above statement is correct, but a stable boat means a flatter hull which means a rougher ride. The deaper v hulls are less stable fishing but ride alot better. I like my Triton (rides good but a little unstable fishing). There is no such thing as the perfect boat

Another thing to consider is those not so "stable" boats that handle rough water well have tall sides and get pushed easy by wind.

Owned a 1992 Champ 196 DCX with a 200 XRI mercury motor. Sold it to my brother when it was 13 years old. He is still running it today. I have owned Ranger, Champion and Triton. The Champ beat them all on huge waves at Fork when the hurricane blew through. Rides great and takes big water very well. My nephew owns a V521 Ranger and you will get wet every time the water gets rough. I now have a 1999 Tr21 Triton with 225 optimax. I still like the ride of the Champ best. I am 64.
