I don't hate anyone, dfw. But I do think the pros should be able to fish against pros, w/o outside interference.

Exactly, I've been a co on lots of different levels. I've also been a boater. It's has nothing to do with not liking or looking down on someone. It's about leveling a playing field. In an 'individual' points tournament, they shouldn't have a guy in the back competing at the same time. That is not a 'level' field.

This is a very serious situation that really needs to be studied well and a decision made by the FLW leadership. The decision to remove co-anglers at the Tour level is a big step. There are a lot of people that would like to see them go. I have only been fishing the tour for one year so I do not feel qualified to say that we would be better off without them. I have had some of the most enjoyable days on the water I can remember with my co-anglers and met some great people and some great fisherman. As for the situation with Mr Moynagh, Its hard to see how the co-angler could have put his fish in the wrong livewell but take a second and step back and think of how hectic that boat was. Cameraman and all his stuff plus catching a fish and netting it. Im sure the co was very excited and everyone was talking at once. This turns into a very quick way to lose focus. He was probably talking when he reached for the lid of a livewell and dropped the fish in. Only after dropping the fish did he realize what he had done. I dont know if this is how it went down just speculating. No real reason to vilify anyone here or make assumptions.

As I'm waiting to meet my pro at Toledo here are some funny thoughts.

How do you know a considerate pro that thought about his co? They left a compartment free on rear deck.

How do you know a considerate co that thought about his pro? They don't take up extra space to need a compartment. smile

I would be surprised if they were eliminated from the Tour level just for the economic impact. 175 cos @ $700 each = $122,500. I know some of that money is paid back, but that still a source of income. As long as they can fill it, they will continue to have it. Paying attention to what's going on in the boat is just another part of the game that has to be done throughout the day. It's up to the pro and the co to keep each other in the right direction.
