I think the further you get up towards 36 Bridge, the better the fishing is on Belton.
Stillhouse takes a while to learn. Keep at it.
I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Not that LBJ is the bass mecca, it just gets very little fishing pressure.
You might see two other bass boats this time of year. On occasion you will see five. Rarely do you see more than that.
Compare that to some of these others where you're the 10th one to fish that area that day.
Tight lines,
Jackson

Actually LBJ is getting hammered by Bass boats this year. With Travis down and the tournys gaving to go to LBJ more often. So its been high pressure on the fish there this season. Its always packed by Bass boats when I go.
As for Belton, I HATE Belton. Ive tried everything there too including throwing my kids in to grab a fish. And nothing good. LOL I'm fishin Champs tomorrow so we will see what happens. My buddy fished 3 days last weekend prefishing for champs and had no luck. Couldnt find a pattern or really any good fish and he's a stick.

Belton is a very good lake people just dont like it cause they cant go out and catch 20 pound sacks with a carolina rig all day. I see way to many people on all the same areas and so many good spots with very few people on them. I break down Belton into 4 different lakes. Cowhouse river arm from sparta park on up, main lake from the dam to the east side of girl scout and from the point of girlscout up to Iron bridge (Leon River). Each of these areas fish very different. Belton is a lake where you can do almost every type of fishing with the exception of punching grass.

Past weekend Bass Champs tourn. 128 team entries and 70 teams did not way a single fish.

^^^doesn't mean anything lots of people dump because they are either wildcat or think they don't have enough to get a check. Dumping happens a lot.

Here is my take on stillhouse: Stillhouse is a prime example of a great structure fishing lake. Fish use structure very well here and alot of times the bite is a timing factor and changes day to day. Remember stillhouse is one of the clearest lakes in texas so its primarily a deep fishing lake. When the grass gets back how it was it will be great.

[/quote] No, you didn't. Point being that tourn. results closely reflect the quality of the fishery. There are exceptions, but historically Belton has not shown itself to be a very productive body of water.

I like that theory man..Mike Iconilli has that same concept..If you dont mind , give me an idea of what you have success throwing in these 4 different " lakes". Where would you start if you were in a tourney..Im a bank fisherman, so if you ever got an empty seat..I be glad to join you so i can get better on my home lake. Because evry now and then, ill fish a tourney if i am asked.I live about 5 minutes from the dam..Retired Army in 2009..Hit me up..Dexter
