 If they were to build a new huge lake, where should they build it?

I always find it amazing around this time of year as they start regulating water usage. We have both the San Antonio and the Medina River running right into the gulf.I do not know all that it would take but I would love to see them build a Huge lake south of San Antonio that would allow both rivers to tie in. It would take a load off our aquifer and supply water to one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Where else would some of you like seeing a lake like the size of Amistad built in Texas?

in the the middle of no where and they need to dig it deep. Land will be cheaper.

drain Lake Cooper, dig it a LOT deeper, sell the land surrounding it, and build a canal(navigable waterway) up to Big Creek connecting the two.

Down stream from PK on the Brazos river north of Mineral wells,could be a huge lake with a lot of depth and good water supply as well.

Down stream from PK on the Brazos river north of Mineral wells,could be a huge lake with a lot of depth and good water supply as well. Considering PK has it's own issues with maintaining a good level, I doubt it'd make for a good water supply. It wouldn't have a great value for fishing due to the annual golden algae blooms. It wouldn't catch all that much run-off of it's own.
No fish is too good for the grease.

There is a big lake going in right off of 259 and 30 in Dekalb. It will probablybe 15-20 years though.

up here in the panhandle so that i won't have to drive 4 hours to the nearest lake.

Tell me that when they have 3 gates open at the dam for 3 days at a time. the water shed is huge on the Brazos system.BRA is the one selling water to plants on the coast that keeps the level up and down. It's about 4' below where they keep it { 998'} now. Look at some of the results of tournaments the last 4 months and see how it compares to Hubbard and Ivie. On dry years it would be low but aren't all lakes in Texas.
