Fly-yaked below PK the past couple of weekends and have done ok. Mostly drum and a few blacks. All of the drum came of a craw pattern or wooly bugger. The bass came on clousers.

JDavis7873,
You ask 'What's a good rate of flow for doing float trips'?
Are you wanting to fish also?
17000cfs is basically White Water and Dangerous unless you are experienced. At this rate there would be NO fishing. Just trying to keep your Yak right side up and your head out of the water.
For Fishing and Yaking I prefer 90 - 1000 cfs and that depends on the location of the river (Brazos). The less flow the more paddling but the easier it is to work areas from the Yak with out getting out to wade fish.
Hope this answers your question!
