maybe he had 50 keelguards wideways across the hull.

he found a bed and forgot his ladder.

maybe he was looking for hard shallow bottom next to deep water?

like they say, follow the birds

ok thats enough...glad everyone was ok

Looks like they hit it with enough force to hit the railing and bend it at the end of their skid. Lucky they didn't do a free willey impersonation over the road.

this is why Lowrance has to say this...WARNING!
A CAREFUL NAVIGATOR NEVER RELIES ON ONLY ONE METHOD
TO OBTAIN POSITION INFORMATION.
CAUTION
When showing navigation data to a position (waypoint), a GPS unit will show
the shortest, most direct path to the waypoint. It provides navigation data to the
waypoint regardless of obstructions. Therefore, the prudent navigator will not
only take advantage of all available navigation tools when traveling to a waypoint,
but will also visually check to make sure a clear, safe path to the waypoint
is always available.
WARNING!

Glad the people are ok, can't say much for the bottom of the boat...

Avoidable with map chip and some intelligence.

I've jumped sandbars to get into creeks before, but that one is a little shallow.
