I have a WSRide. It is stable and tracks very good while paddleing. It handles a good load on river trips too.The hull is spacious and easy to put gear into.I dont think I can over load it.The gear I have taken inside the hull is unbelieveable. Love my Ride. What is your favorite and why?And Bob I dont want to here about your Quest.lol just kidding.

I have to strongly agree with the Ride. I just have not found anything to really gripe about on it. It is a very comfortable kayak and user friendly for beginners and experienced paddlers. I have not really loaded mine down yet, but it holds everything I need. My next choice is the Hobie Odysee. This is a stable yak with a lot of deck space. It really excels in current on rivers and creeks. It does not track as well as the Ride, but it is a little bit faster and loves current.

Well, I know I am really outnumbered in my opinion but I really enjoy my Manteo WS. Outnumbered because it is a sit inside model. Great Yak that they don't make anymore. 13.5 feet and traks great. I can use it all year and don't get wet. I have been down the Brazos several times overnight camping and it holds gear great. If I were taller my opinion would change over a SINK type of yak though.

Well....My yak is either going to be my favorite or least favorite... I just bought it today and haven't had it out yet...
I got a like new perception prism, with a rudder and a depth finder.. It's even rigged with an outrigger, although I'm not sure if I'll use it or not.... It looks like it has lots of storage.. I hope to have it on the water Sunday morning...

I like my Hobie Mirage Outback but it's the only Kayak I have ever owned. The pedal option is cool. I also like the Ocean Kayak Drifter because I'm am 5'10 240 pounds so I need a big stable Kayak.

JDavis,Ive gone on overnite trips with a friend who has a Prism,a very good yak in my opinion. His has front and back hatches for gear and storage. Also he is a big guy so it handles his weight good while carrying over nite gear.I posted a Ride on the TKF site for sale last nite for a friend (Mike) and he sold it today to the first caller.Yep Bob, Mike already sold it.He is getting a Tarpon 140.Its neat to buy something new and use it for a couple of months then get your money back. Its a sellers market right now for yak owners.

Thanks for the good report on the prism... I actually got a pretty sweet deal on mine... I paid less than $600 for it, and it came with a piranha 20 depth finder, a factory rudder, and an outrigger, although I'll probably never use it... I've found a lot of good reviews on this yak.. Now I've got to work on my own review.... I've been considering doing an overnight fish/camp trip to Wolf Island on Ray Roberts.. I wonder if anyone else might be interested in this??? WE can cheat a little if we do go.. I'll have my buddy take my boat out with all the extra camping necessities, so we don't have to sink our yaks, or travel too lightly... I doubt my 120qt cooler full of beer would strap onto my yak very well!!!!

JDavis, that was an excellant deal.I looked for an after market rudder for my Ride and it starts at 200 dollars. You got the whole deal. The overniter sounds good too. When?

Hey Copperhead... I got to take out the yak on Sunday... I really like it, but I've got to get some scupper plugs if I plan on fishing in any cooler water with it... I don't blame the kayak for that though... I'm sure it has more to do with my big arse... Anyway, as far as a trip to wolf island is concerned, I was thinking that maybe sometime in September would be good.. I'm not that big of a wuss, but sleeping outdoors in July and August can by downright miserable...

I agree, when the weather cools down its time. You can also just wear waders instead of scupper plugs.I never use my plug, especially in the hot months.Enjoy the yak.
