These are all different piles I've found. All had fish in them. I like the piles that look hairy on the graph. Sorry I'm broke and don't have si, but structure is structure! Sure beats a flasher!

Thanks Keith.

And another question, Do large catfish show up on a graph the same as scale fish?? I've been told they have a different showing on a graph.

I hope this is not off topic.

Thanks

Using 2D sonar, different fish produce a different size and shape arch. Those who are proficient with 2D can tell you if the arch is a hybrid, catfish, crappie, ect. On the DI or SI, the return for whites, crappie, small cats, is about the same. Maybe Salsa will respond and give the link to his videos on using the SI and DI. He has some good instructional help that really helps understand what you're looking at and how to set the sensitivity. If you really want to get a lot of questions answered, take a trip with him on Tawakoni where you can catch some fish and watch the SI in action.

Hey Ken,

appreciate the kind words. Here is a video that shows sandbass vs. blue catfish. I'm making a new one right now that deals with sidescan and deals specifically with trophy blue catfish and how to identify them on sidescan.

It's funny, we've booked almost as many sonar / side-imaging trips as we have fishing trips.
