We were stopped by a game warden at gvine bout
a month ago and he was very polite. asked for the license And asked
if we were in the tourny. He joked and said we got an advantage
on boat behind us cuz he stopped them.

Took less than 5 minutes and he went about his business. He
was A younger guy.

I have had that warden stop and chat with me and never check me. He was very nice and pointed out a brush pile next to the bridge. That was cool

My Dad and I fished a tournament today and saw the officer check out a pontoon boat. A few minutes later, he ran to a point and dropped a bouy marker. He then idled back to the pontoon boat and stayed there a few minutes. He then made his way to us. He asked if we were fishing a tournament and we said yes. He shot the breeze with us for a few minutes and then said that he would leave us alone for our last hour of fishing. I asked him about the bouy marker he dropped. He said the folks in the pontoon boat wanted to catch crappie so he marked a brushpile for them that he had had caught fish out of earlier in the week. With all of the bad [censored] going on in the world today, it was refreshing to witness this guy demonstrating the high level of respect and character that he did!!!

The old saying, "straight from the horses mouth" fits here. My wife and I were the 'folks on the pontoon'. Yes indeed, Heath Taylor is truly a professional! He knows Bob Sandlin better than anybody I believe. He knew that we were crappie fishing, and the brush pile that I found was too deep. So Heath says, "let me borrow that marker buoy, and I'll show you another brush pile that usually holds more crappie". Indeed it did!!! We are fortunate to have Heath on our local lakes.
For those of you that are not aware of it, Heath, about twice a year, provides a guided fishing trip for the Pegasus Boys Home, I think that "says it all", in the character of our local Warden. Also thanks to Big Earls Bait Shop for furnishing the minnows on those trips. Thanks to Heath and Big Earl. ......Ken

Nice spelling, bro.
You obviously don't know Heath, just as others have said.. this is an example of the kind of guy he is, always looking out for other fishermen. If this was supposed to be a humorous post it was a miserable fail.

Last time I was on Bob Sandlin I had a similar experience with a game warden, sounds like the same guy... He asked to see our license and safety stuff and then talked fishing with us for a few minutes. Most game wardens that I have run into have been pretty cool but this guy was above and beyond...

Great read about a great game warden. The TPWD game warden who works the Lake Graham / Jacksboro / Bryson area is another example of a great guy. He has checked me this year and he was very friendly and professional. He talked a little fishing too.
I support our Game Wardens 100%. Their job can go from safe to dangerous in a moments notice and they are willing to risk their life to save yours if needed.

Had a pleasant experience at Lost Creek a few weeks back with that Game Warden. Super nice guy. Almost apologetic for interrupting the fishing. Same with the female warden at Bridgeport. Very nice and professional.

Then again 99% of my encounters with the GWs are the same way. I appreciate their presence and know that me getting inconvenienced for a few minutes is just part of the deal in the big picture. They eventually net good busts in these stops so its worthwhile.

Heath did the same for 3 guys in a small boat under the bridge yesterday as well. He checked them, came back a few minutes later, saw them toss a marker to him and followed Heath to mark a spot.
