Went to Lake Arlington yesterday up Village Creek. Went at 7:00 before the winds kicked in. The spawn is on! Paddled up Village Creek about 200 yards below the railroad tracks. Caught over 30 fish and kept 12 for dinner. Usually, I catch and release but those guys fry up so nice. There was a 30 minute period where it was every cast. Fished a new superlight set up with a white road runner. What a blast. Coming back was another story. When I hit the lake area, winds were 25-30 miles in my face and I was pulling fish. If you smell someone in the next few days who smells like Ben-Gay, that's me.

That is the same creek. It goes under 20 and 287. I go further up past business 287.

Declan I live in Fort Worth and have thought about arlington on several occasions, but have not seen a place where you could put in easily without paddleing all the way across the lake. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Hey Declan - Like One More - I'm looking for a good put-in, thinking about going this weekend. Can you help us out?
In this life there is fly fishing and tying...and then there is all that other stuff in between that doesn't matter.

I have been putting in at the Bowman Springs boat launch. It is a bit of a paddle to the creeks but not too bad. I have seen others park at 20/287 bridge and carry yak to the creek. I didn't feel real safe leaving my Jeep there to be honest. Put in at Bowman and paddle south to the creek and keep going. I am planning on heading out there again on Saturday morning around 7:30 weather permitting. I am in a brown Wilderness System Mantao and drive a green Jeep Wrangler.
