Want to start a thread on any sand bass action out there. The kayak is the best way to get at these schools when they run in the creeks. I am hitting Lake Arlington Saturday and will report. Any one else got some good areas.

I know your in Arlington but I will be hitting the Guadalupe, San Gabriel and Perdenales around central Texas if anyone is interested. I will also be visiting my parents Feb 26th-29th in Houston and will be fishing the San Jacinto--East Fork most likely through private access.

I've never really fished for whites before (caught four or five before), and I'd love to get in my kayak and give it a try. I live in the Austin area if anyone wants to hook up.

Looks like we are all on the same page. I spent yesterday "scouting creeks". I still amaze myself how I can paddle in water only ankle deep. Went up a creek yesterday that was so shallow and narrow that I had to paddle backwards until it was wide enough for me to turn the yak back around.

If the others on this forum had any idea what a great fishing tool kayaks are I'm sure they would add one to thier fishing tackle in addition to thier power boat. Just my .02.

I'm in the North Dallas area, lakes that I can make it to no problem are:

Ray Roberts
Lavon
Grapevine

I fish for sandies/whites in my yak all the time.. but spring is best because the yak can get into any area where the fish might be and big boats ain't! I fish Somerville for whites... both from the bank and from the boat...

I did go up Village Creek from Lake Arlington on Saturday afternoon. I caught 4 sandies on a white road runner. The sandy run is starting. This is a great creek for kayaks. Would be awesome if people could control their trash.

I live in far NW Plano, at the tollway and 121, just a few minutes from Lake Lewisville. Can anyone give me directions to good put-ins for the creeks feeding Lake Arlington or Lewisville to chase the whites? If I don't get in my yak and cast some flies soon I may go postal.

In this life there is fly fishing and tying...and then there is all that other stuff in between that doesn't matter.

Just let me know when you want to go. If I can I'll meet up with you. I can definitly know my way around Ray Roberts. I live in Carrollton so should not be hard to meet up on short notice.
