Myself and Mike "USMC_GY" headed up to Canyon Lake. We fished Canyon from 9:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. We caught about 15 nice Bluegills in the 7 to 8 inch range and a couple of Redbreast in the 7 inch range. The water was clear in some spots and stained in others. Took a break at the local Dairy Queen and then headed to the Comal River. The Bite on the Comal was good and the water was stained. There were some areas where the water was muddy. We caught several nice Rios in the 9 to 10 inch range and some nice Blue Gills in the 8 inch range. All fish were caught on worms using various techniques from the drop shot method to bottom and float techniques. All fish were released to fight again. It felt good just getting out and feeling that tug on the Ultra light. fish

Had a great trip Chuck. It was nice seeing all the creeks and rivers so full of water after the last year. I just wanted to make sure we mentioned Craine's Mill fishing pier is closed. Apparently some A-holes ran over the port-a-potty one day, and somebody ripped off the rails of the dock and threw the new port-a-potty in the lake so they blockaded the road and closed the pier indefinitely. I hate that a few ruin it for the rest of us.

Anyhow, here are a couple of nice gills and little redbreast caught at Canyon.

Nice fishing! Whereabouts on Canyon were you?

Canyon isn't an epic bluegill lake, but they are there and you can catch a few dozen if you're patient!

This is just sick, and these people are so desperate that they resort to stealing dock pipes that have been there for decades?
Hopefully they'll repair the dock and have law enforcement patrol that area like they did in the past, and I say that because stealing those pipes had to have taken some time, and some regular patrols would have snagged the dirtbags, and they obviously knew something.

Just one more cast!

Thanks Curtis and "Jimbo" for the replies. Canyon Lake and the Comal River are in pretty good shape. thumb "Jimbo": With all of the money the federal government throws away realmad you would think they would put up a couple of monitoring cameras around high crime areas on their lakes. hmmm They could also easily put up a few signs stating that cameras are on scene. coolio No their answer is to simply close the dock without any consideration for the HONEST Folks who use it. soap

The park employe was quick to say that he has heard of no plans to reopen the dock anytime soon. bang

Thanks "Tun3R" for the reply. Let me know in advance when you decide to go to Medina. Would like to tag along. Also once the water clears up at Dunlap we need to have a carp session. fish
