I'm gonna break down and get some football jigs this week to fish Fork. Any help on how and where to fish them?? Size and trailers preferred would help too!! Never thrown one, but struggling out there lately!! Thanks!!

Hire Ronnie Kelley and don't put it down all day...he is the best on Fork with the FB Jig...
I love Santones 3/4 oz FB Jig in Texas Craw....I dare you to put a Lake Fork Tackle Hyper Freak in Grn Pnk Purple...then stroke it in deep water....
Find some good deep points...We wacked them in 30ft last week...we fished the lower end of the lake and did good...put in at Oakridge and work your way towards the dam...there's some good stuff that way...
Good luck and stick with the FB Jig...it will produce the bigger fish...

We have been doing the same with the SANTONE football jig 3/4 oz. and trailing it with the the "goby" by OUZO and cutting the tail. Awesome combination.

Our Talon football jigs have a nearly legendary history on Lake Fork and are THE football jig to throw when fishing deep structure there. They've been used for many years by veteran Fork guides John Tanner and James Caldemeyer , and have produced scores of memorable trips for their clients and others who dare to ply the depths for the Lake Fork Monster Bass. Here is a link to one memorable trip with John Tanner where the best five of the day weighed an amazing 47.58lbs! http://lfmfr.com/2008/10/31/lake-fork-guide-john-tanner-4758-5-fish-day-10-31-2008/3/4oz is the most popular size, and best colors are Watermelon Candy, Green Pumpkin, Texas Craw, Willie's Weed, and Watermelon Red BW. Check James and John's fishing reports for current, straight forward information that you can take to the lake and use with confidence. It's ironic this thread popped up - we just talked with James Caldemeyer yesterday and he said the football jig bite is on like donkey kong!!!

There are more sore lipped fish in Fork due to Caldemeyer and Talon football jigs than any others.

3/4 ounce, any shade of green, hags junior undertaker trailer or LFT hyper freak, find you a good point, pull it up, down and off the sides, bring advil for bruised ribs from setting the hook all day.

Man I'm not sure what's up with those Football heads that you got from Talon, but over the last 2-3 years I cannot count how many big fish I've caught on Talons at Fork and other lakes. I use nothing but braid usually and have never seen one bend, never. Im pretty sure they are using either 4 or 5/0 Mustad hooks. You should call them, let them know your situation and they will make it right.
