St. Croix Avid AVC70MHF - light, sensitive and with plenty of backbone. It's not cheap at $190 but I think it's a great value at that price.

You know, everyone says to buy these "bad#$%" expensive rods. Like St Croix, Dobbins, and such. But an Allstar rod has done me just fine for many years, and they are only $40-90. I'd go with a 6'6".

St Croix 7' MH fast tournament edition. I used to use a lot of Allstar rods, but got tired of them breaking. Warranty was great but they can't get those big fish back that got away from a broken rod.

my team allstar 6'6" med heavy IM 10... think I paid $100 but well worth it..
