We have had 13 people fish the last 2 tourney combined. We would like to have more guys fish since twice this year we have had over 20 people fish. Please PM me why you did not fish. If there is something we can change now we want to or know to change it for next year. Please help make the club better.

Personally and not to hurt anyones feelings, the reason we did not join this year is the tournaments are usually a good ways away from Cleburne and we just cannot afford to travel with the gas prices like they are. Loved the club and had fun for many years, but just cannot afford the distance.

I was waiting for KVS so say something like that, but the truth is some of us do not really care about winning. But keep traveling 2 hours away and you might not have anyone to compete against. I haven't said a word about where the tournaments have been till asked. With that being said, why spend $150 in fuel when I can stay around here and fish opens for $50-$60.

The lakes we fish are picked at the monthly club meetings by majority vote. Then the people that never show up to meetings complain about how far the lake is. Also, the range of 150 miles was also picked by, you guessed it, majority vote at a meeting. Moral of the post is, if you never show up to vote, you can't complain about the choices.

Kevin, I was not complaining. If you look back a few posts, you will see that Kicker fish asked why people are not showing up to the tournaments. My work does not allow me to attend the meetings. Enjoy being the "Top STICK" out of 7 people.

I have a solution if anyone wants to hear it? Make the club like it used to be for many years, fish lakes within a 75 mile radius with the exception of maybe 1-2 times a year, venture off a little further. Maybe more people will join and more will show up to fish each month. Hey, maybe it is worth a try who knows? There are lakes like Benbrook, EM, Lake Worth, Joe Pool, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Weatherford, Cleburne, Alvarado, Aquilla, etc, that rarely gets fished by CBC.

I agree with both of ya'll. I WILL enjoy being the "top stick" while it last out of 28 paid members for the 4th year in a row (and I-35 series Media Bass I might add). I also argree with the 75 mile radius limit. Problem is, when it comes time to propose rule changes and vote, are you gonna be there???

KVS, I am not a member this year so I cannot vote. It was just a suggestion to possibly bring the number of people fishing each tournament up. I do remember in the old days we had anywhere between 15-25 each tournament. And you need to teach me how to be patient and shakey head fish......

By the way, If anyone is interested, I am looking to sell my boat so I can upgrade. It is a 2003 Skeeter SX 190DC with Yamaha 150 VMax (maybe 100 hours)Minn Kota Maxxum foot controlled trolling motor, 2 bamk charger, Lowrance Elite Series 5 color at the console, Eagle 320 at the bow, hot foot, custom cover about 4 months old, new tires on trailer. I am asking 16k and as you know it is clean....

I think we should fish Squaw Creek Jan and Feb then fish Cleburne the rest of the year. If it's people you want to draw then keep it truly a Cleburne Bass Club. As the fishing gets better then the more will show up. I personally like fishing different lakes but I have the kiddos to tend to and can't get away all the time.
I know we can't just keep fishing one or two lakes all year but in the long run we would probably draw more boats (due to the economy) on average and increase club funds and could keep the club championship the same. Just my .02

Well I wanted to avoid the back and forth on the fourm. I did want to get some real input. How ever it seems to be same old situation. No one wants to drive. Belton was over and hour away and we had 20+ fish. Waco is an hour and we had 20+. Leon and Palasten are both a bit further but wiht in the 75 mile radius that was mentioned. I was hoping to hear something more allong the lines that I am out of AYO so I am going to concentrate on other series. Because the truth of the matter is that no matter where we fish someone is going to be upset. I hope to see more folks out over the next few month. If participation does not grow considerably in the next few monts I think the Club is doomed to be lost forever. My 2 cents. Bring a friend next month.
