Catfish are easy to handle. Just grab em behind the head around their fins. Gar are a little different. I still hate handling them.

I don't think bass are safe to eat. Best ask that in the bass fishing section.

Why would they not be safe unless you are fishing in one of the areas that an advisory has been posted?

He's just stirring up trouble. Most of the area lakes are perfectly safe to eat fish from, most popular table fair is crappie, catfish, bass, and bluegill. Don't eat fish from lake worth or the trinity river. I don't think any other lakes have advisories.
