I used Quantum tour edition rods when they were still labeled made in USA. I use Loomis, Falcon and St.Croix and want to get me one of those Dobyns deep cranking rods. Everybody I know that got one of the colored rods loved it when they got it and about two weeks later when they was takin em back weren't quite as thrilled with them. (plus they look kinda ghey imo)

Been using Falcon for a long time now but have mixed in a few Dobyns now too. Plan on slowly phasing out my older Falcons with DObyns over time. Just can't get past the look of the orange, yellow or white rods to even want to try one. Personaly, I think they're just ugly.

Relatively new to fishing and have a little bit of everything right now. Most of the stable are Falcon LowRiders.

Falcon Caras but looking to try some Dobyns. I've been using an ugly orange one for the past two years and can't put it down.

skyline graphite. 5-1/2' pistol grip I still have a few along with the Skyline Rod protector and the Lews SpeedSpools that are on them. They have been in the storage room for YEARS!

My dad had all custom rods, for as long as i could remember,I don't even know who made them anymore.
My first rod was a zebco snoopy rod, when i out grew that I got to use one of his that he had broken some of the tip off and had fixed to be a shorter rod for me, with his lews bb1 on it(he never liked the lews). When I got a little older he got me a couple Berkely lightning rods and i had a 4500c on one and the bb1 on the other becasue i wanted to try the long handled rods( i was using his customs at this time too, they were all pistol grip) After that I started getting all-stars after we moved to texas and i had 4500/5000/5500c's on them.
I have alot of different rods now, a carrot stick, a duckett, a veritas, those are my only "colored" rods.
My others are falcon's, bucoo's and cara's and lowriders etc.
I don't care what color a rod is, it's a tool. And I buy the tool I think fits best the purpose, regardless of brand or color.
If i were to buy rods based on color, i might buy only ducket's and veritas so they'd match my white boat lol..

Back several years ago the top rod makers I recall we're, Garcia Conolon, Eagle claw, Fenwick Lunkerstik and Skyline. Anybody still have or use these?

Ive used a wide variety of rods, Berkeley, bass pro, etc... Now use Phoenix blaze, and castaway. I was with a buddy a couple weeks ago when he broke one of the yellow ones on his fourth fish after buying it. It was a whopping 2 Lber. I tried a yellow one for top water baits and I'm not a big fan.

I had a custom built rod with a yellow Fenwick blank given to me by the family back in 1975. Yeller rods sure aint nothin new to me and I have a brown Cotton Cordell original Lightening rod and a brown Kunan Brush Buster flippin rod. I also have a few green blank BPS tournament sticks that are not bad for the money spent.
I'll stick with good ole black graphite and composte glass crankin rods from now on and be happy.
