I hear nothing but good things about chatter baits, but I have never caught a fish on one. I straight retreive it, run it over grass, into wood, work it like a jig, rip it off the bottom, etc. Any tips?

My pb came off a chatter bait, at ivie, bumped a tree, bounced off and she ate it 7.9... I have caught a total of 1 other fish on a chatter bait. SOOOO, I would yes to all of those techniques lol

They will usually work in any situation you would throw a spinner bait. I have had my best luck fishing windy banks with a little off colored water. Also off the edges of matted hydrilla/grass letting it fall and hopping it each time it stops falling. They work real good shallow on docks or creek edge stumps early in the prespawn and spawn. Also night time fishing can be excellent.

Shallow rocks, docks and grass/buck brush. Make that blade vibrate big time and they will whack it.

I like to retreive stop retreive ... and let it sink and flutter. I have caught several fish using this technique.

Only tip I got for u is to load up and take several to The Fork with u...you will soon get off the snide.... ....in my limited experience, I've had better success in slightly stained/off color water...do NOT give up on these...

Sounds like you're on the right track just haven't found the fish yet. I love to throw them in mornings and evenings especially with a little wind just like spinner baits. Hang in there sir. I even caught a 12lb. cat fish off a midnight special colored one in a tourney this month just before the sun came up. Thought I had a lake record.

I've switched to the off brands. Zman seems to have put cheaper hooks and components in.

Good around shallow flooded grass. Slow reel it to where you still really feel the vibration.

Make sure you put a LFT Magic shad or Zoom speed craw trailer on it. This helped me.

4-5" swimbait as a trailer on a chatterbait=bigger fish then my buddies throwing a conventional spinnerbait right beside me.

This might be the weirdest, most pointless post ever. I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing
