Yeah and the scary part of it is they don't have the best control of those things . Just like they are people who are new to boat owning how about new to sail boating and are just learning to sail those things. i don't even like a lot of fishing boats around me. I will not fish that hump when they get thick like that. Johnny

It was not just that hump. They were running all the way over to the dam and circling around. They were running a large area Saturday. Many good spots were covered up on the south end. We still found some though. I stopped and fished that hump on our way out and that was all the excitement and aggravation I needed. We did not find many north of the island. Today is another day.

Was out there too, I didn't even try to fish the area. I went on a guide trip with Lance two years ago, the same thing happened to us while we were fishing that area, the guys did not even say sorry or bat an eye. They actually came by again just not as close. I don't see how that isn't illegal? Is it?

I agree...one teaching trip will change your approach. The electronics will make all the difference. +1,000!!! I took a teach trip with Johnny over a year ago and it changed the game for me! Johnny still beats it into my brain, "trust your electronics" and its made all the difference. I just follow Johnny.

It was nice meeting some of you guys on saturday.I was with Richard on saturday and I wish She would of got video of the first sail boat that crossed our path, They were so close (less than 5ft) from Richards bow. If he wanted he could of just boarded their sailboat it was that close! The one that cut in between us saw us from a mile away and still proceeded to go in between us then was apologizing while go through. He then said we shouldn't be there cause its their biggest regatta of the year, and after he past started to curse us as he sailed away.

Here's a thought for the Boat Club... They have a big boat that I assume the master sailor guy is on, all they need to do is come by and let you know that they are going to have a race in 30 minutes and would appreciate it if you move to another location...
I would be perfectly fine with that.

I would be perfectly fine with that. Agreed! I was anchored out last year and had my 5 year old with me....out there early with no boats in sight. Was so busy catching fish and helping my son, but then heard people talking!? Looked up and almost got smacked by a sail boat! With 5 more right behind him! I didn't realize I was anchored by the north race bouy on race day! But all of those kind sailors had no problem letting me know "I was in their (word that rhymes with ducking) way!" yes Cursed at me in front of my 5 year old! I should have taken my sons advice and " ram them daddy!" lol anybody wanna help me anchor out some suspension mines? That would definetly change the outcome on race day, and create some excellent structure for fish habitat!?

I've got it! Two huge bouys with an 1/8 inch cable tied between them and on the bouys some of those parachutes to slow drift!? If it doesn't rip the keel off, it'll definetly put them at the back of the pack! Anybody wanna go in halfzies!? Lol

Or the day of the race all the fishermen gather on their race course and delay it.

Not seen any schooling. Just find a sharp change in depth . No an old lake like EM is silted in and not a lot of slopes and humps. Use your electronics. Last thursday we caught 351 fish on a hump that was only 4 ft up from the sournding area. That one is hard to find it is about twice as big as a car. I repeat use your electronics and trust them. I take some guys on a guide trip and show them what to look for and a few days later they are one of the BB boys(Birds and Boat show). If you don't learn to use your fish finder that is the only way you will ever find them and that isn't very dependable. Johnny Excellent advice Johnny!

We were fishing the Budlight trail Sunday and were in boat club when "the hoss" exited out of the boat club marina area. they just about ran over another bass boat on there way out. I think that video should be turned over to the lake to the tarrant regional water and parks and wildlife.. that sail boat captain should be easy to find. I am glad to see that someone got them on video finally. hope something gets done. i have personally had problems with that same boat.

I say just keep a 4oz slab ready at all times and cast it into their sail. If they are close enough that you can cast into their boat then they are too close. When (not if) they start yelling at you make sure they know you were there first. I don't think there is a law against casting into a boat when they are that close to you. I actually think there is something that says they boats are supposed to be 100 yards apart. Of course no one goes by that. "If I aint touching your boat then I am good." Dumb people every lake you go to.....
