Would I be ok if I tried to stock a pond by catching some of these and releasing them into the pond or would that be dumb) Please don't release them into other ponds. They are considered invasive species in many areas. They eat everything and can quickly destroy a pond.

That is definitely the ubiquitous green sunfish, scientific name Lepomis cyanellus....not a goggle eye or warmouth.
Common in most river systems in Texas, probably not the best choice for stocking a barren pond. Most would prefer bluegills or hybrid 'gills for pond sunfishes. The males are beautiful fish in spawning colors.
