We are leaving tonight on a trip to Lake Fork from Minnesota. We have 5 nights booked at the great Lake Fork Marina.

We take a family trip every year and last year we had a blast. We decided to do it again this year.

My question is anyone have any input on whats going on on the lake? Water high/low? Pre/post spawn/ weather lately?

Water level is nearly 2 ft low...fishing is insane. They are in all 3 phases of the spawn. Weather has been cloudy mixed with some rain. Talk to Cameron @ LFM and he will guide you in the right direction.

Also, you can google my blog; the bass chronicles. It's on blogspot. Anyway I've pulled a few different reports off of TFF and other sites talking about the trends over the last few weeks. It might give you a bit of insight as well.

Hey thank you very much Gentleman! Very much appreciated.

Any suggestions on where to fish? I think we have decided we are going to stick in Birch and Little Caney unless someone has some other information they can provide or supplement with? smile

You can spend a whole month in Little Caney and never fish it all....

We went last year and never fished Caney. We stuck with Mustang and Birch and we enjoyed birch very much.

We bought a guide later in the trip and they kept us near the south end of the lake around the dam using Carolina rig a lot.

Looking forward to exploring new territory in Caney/Little Caney.

Did you fish around the same time last year as you are going this year? I haven't fished down by the Dam, actually never really even though about it for our upcoming trip this week.

Concentrate on Secondary points and Spawning flats....throw a square bill, fluke, Carolina rig, and a Dropshot. Good Luck!

Nick, just fish it all and have a blast. When you get in trouble call Stephen Fatherre or Tom Reddington and they'll load your boat.

And there are some brutes in there. Also if you go in the back you just might see a gator.

Just got off of the lake and I finally found internet access around here at the lake fork Marina. Anyone staying here? We go to breakfast at Tiffanys every morning around 5:15 or so.

Been fisihing for 15 hours a day for the last 3 days and do not have much to show for it. We got a few 3 lbs'ers but thats about it.

We fished birch, little Caney, and Big Caney and couldnt get much going. It seemed like they liked the white plastics out of all of the colors we have tried but it has been tough.

We are going back to be Caney tomorrow to see what we can dig up there but man is this lake big. Last year we went and we only went to mustang and birch. Never expereinced the lower half of the lake. Great resource you guys have here.

for bigger fish try some deep points further up the lake, there should be some post spawn females that have settled in and will be getting on the feeding areas where they'll stay for a good while. haven't been to the lake for a few weeks now but if i was struggling up shallow i would try to graph some fish deep up lake and see how that goes. if you do find em deep you can crank, c-rig, shakey head or drop-shot should all get you bit on the deep fish right now. good luck
