But I still launch at Holiday mainly because of the friendly ppl I often meet there And the State Park when wife comes along. Is tanglewook marina open 24/7? I know the SP gate opens at 7am or 7:30am and thats kinda late for the summer time for me, unless you have the access code.

Man, I could write a book on this post..... The ONLY reason I use Holiday is because it costs more gas to run out of the State Park and it is hard to unload a full 150qt cooler from the boat to the cleaning table at the state park. I just cant handle 200lbs of fish over the side of the boat without helpers and sometimes my customers are retired and not able to help.
As for Holiday....the only way to change things is to lodge complaints regularly. I did so this week and it was not fun, but it needed to be done. The people running the marina will not pass complaints to the owner though, so you should ask for the owners number and lodge the complaints directly.
Redfin, I scrub my boat 30+ minutes every afternoon. It is embarrasing as a guide to insist every customer spray hose their shoes before getting in the boat, but we have to each morning and the boat still looks like a mud pit.
This Easter weekend, they did not bother to empty the trash cans. Trash was sticking out of the barrels 2 feet and lying on the ground in a ten foot circle all around.
One of the employees saw a customer of mine drive around the back side of the pavillion to park by the dock. They walked out and asked my customer if they knew how to read? Then said the sign said keep left and continued to chew them out like a schoolkid. I am livid.
Like I said, insist on getting the owners number and make complaints often. The complaints will never be addressed otherwise.

The state park is head and shoulders above Holiday, I know it takes a little more gas, and if you don't have a slip there you aren't supposed to use the cleaning station that the slip owners installed and paid for. The best complaint is to go somewhere else, they did try to clean up the restrooms but it still is a hit or miss proposition, crafty play on words there. Matt you could use two coolers, big ole boy like you should have no problem hefting a hundred pounds of fish over the side. The time you save cleaning your boat would easily pay for the extra fuel.
It ain't easy making it look easy.

The wife suggested trying to find two 60qt coolers that would fit in the space up front. Ya'll are way smarter than me I'm on the gate code list and have a new pass. Wouldn't take much to send me that way

I have read several threads about the Holiday ramp. I really want to see some pictures of this monstrosity if any one has some! I haven't been able to make it out to Tawakoni yet and when I do I want to know what i'm getting myself into.

Jim I agree totally!!! Matt I agree totally!!!
State park best facilities on the lake!!! Except cleaning table to short my back can't take cleaning 50 to 100 fish a day...some of my customers don't want to pay just to drive to the ramp and get in my boat...I put more hours on boat motor at park plus $4 dollar a gallon gas
Holiday facilities are terrible!!! But we have a private cleaning table...no waiting gets customers on their way when they are in a hurry and I can still walk up right!!!
Wish we could combine the best of the two!!!

Joe, how easy would it be to elevate the fish cleaning table at the state park? I can look at it and maybe have Parker volunteer to make some risers/spacers to extend the legs (1', 1-1/2'?). I figure they have it bolted down to a concrete pad.

It is nice and convenient to have your own personal cleaning station. I have seen what Matt and Joe have at their boat slip and I am sure Holiday did not provide that part of the slip, it is really nice and big. I was at the state park Wednesday cleaning a few fish we kept for a fish fry and there is only 1 electrical outlet with 2 plugs in it. We did have to wait a short period but that was all. I wonder what it would take to enlarge the cleaning station or even build another one beside that one that already exists? Who would you contact about information like that?

Hell, we could volunteer materials and labor, sub-assemble the shelter, plumbing and table off-site and have one up in a weekend! $25 grand - yep, it's ALL politics!
You could probably find a cushioned stool to get you high enough and sit down to clean fish, Joe!

Thet are around fairly late... I left at 3am saturday morning.. I launched at 2pm friday afternoon..there is no gate that locks you in like the state park.. The entrance to the marina is probably 300 feet from the state parks gate where you pay...make right On county road 3711 then turns into 3829 like a quarter mile down..cant miss it look at google map

Joe pool 13 incher The way to communicate with the fish is to drop them a line. To argue on a fishing boat is to have de bait.

I have a question about the State Park site. Is it the same site that White Deer Landing use to occupy. It's many years since I have been that far south on the lake. Last time I was at White Deer (1994 or so) the place was abandoned.

I Buy a State Park Card . Can go to any State Park NO FEE for all in vehicle . IT helps keep Parks open and no hassel entry. The State Park people Love IT.
