they shut the gates down already? damn i was gonna go today, but damn car won't start..  sonfish, did you see anyone doing good for hybrids down there? how many gates are open? None?

anybody launch a kayak at the dam? Yes. Drag it under the trestle. Call corps and see if you still can this year. With the accidents last couple of years, they were talking about not allowing it anymore.

Was at 78 bridge yesterday afternoon, saw a few small sandies caught in the rough water under the trusel and 1 crappie. Pretty slow, wondering if they are about done.
I don't always fish for sand bass, but when I do,
I fish for them in a horrifyingly violet manner

Where is the proper place for parking if to fish at 78 bridge area? I prefer creek type fishing. Can't find good parking place using Google Maps. There are pathways all the way to the creek, but concerned they may be muddy.

There is a really rough dirt road about 1/2 mile north of the creek you can drive right down to the bridge, BUT BEWARE. A lot of people get stuck after it rains, can be very slick and muddy.

i just park where the gate is and walk a 1/4 mile or so better there than gettin stuck

thanks, Buckman. I realize there are a couple of dirt roads to the creek and actually tried one of them last week but then backed out in the middle, was worried who could come rescue if I was to get stuck.

i drive my truck to the tressel all the time next to the water. If any TFF'er ever gets stuck in the mud, im always available to pull ya out.

Despite the envy of these situations, its always fun to learn something and have it work that's the "float tube" Joe at east fork. Hybrids made it to the dam. hooked some, but I didn't set my drag right. They snapped my line like there was nothing there. I was doing pretty good on minnows the other day among people around till a Vietnamess guy came, looked my fish, and smiled. He went out with his lures, bang,bang,bang,bang. I gave up, and ended up watching him work his lures. Followed him with my own, bang,bang,bang. Boy, fun time. I think he and another guy limited out. I didn't. Don't care about more fish to take home. Just the fun. But three of us left with heavy stringers when the bugs starting to bite. Game warden came and checked everyone. Couple of people got busted. A guy next to me saw GW came,dropped his rod, moved his bucket of fish behind me, and told his little girl to be quiet. It was a drama when GW asked whose rods and fish they were. Kudos to the GW. met a TFF member. Thanks for the shad. Glad to hear what carey said. Most fish are going EFT.

Hybrids at the dam! Had one hit on cork and fluke but couldn't land it. Saw one guy leave with 3. Made a run down to 78 and people landing crappie and sandies all over.
Confirmed, only one gate open
