What is the best scenic lake in Texas.
Why live in the city, where you have to call 911 for a problem, where I live i am 911- Phill Robertson.

 I fished the devils and the pecos at amistead and am always awed by the Indian pictographs there.about 15 years ago an elderly lady from Midland was with us,she had spent her youger years photographing those cave paintings I got Quite a history lesson on that trip.said she had about 20,000 slides of rock art from all over.

Yea they are along the pecos and devils river. can see them from the water.

There are no scenic lakes in Texas. Go to Broken Lake in OK or Lake Greeson in AR to visit a real scenic lake close by. Greers Ferry in AR is the closest "real" scenic lake - God's Country up there.

Give it up! There is no scenic lake nearby in Texas that can compare to Broken Bow Lake in Broken Bow, OK (Almost in TX).

There is no scenic lake nearby in Texas that can compare to Broken Bow Lake in Broken Bow, OK (Almost in TX). We hear you loud and clear. Broken bow is great, been there several times, very scenic. No need to wear AR pride on your shirt sleeve, I think most people here would agree BB is beautiful by virtue of their interest in this thread. Furthermore, beauty is very subjective, and I doubt very many folks have been to every lake in Texas. I personally don't subscribe to the "my lake is better than yours" position. I'd like to hear opinions about scenic lakes Outside of Texas, maybe that could be a new topic?

caddo but I've never been to lakes in TX outside of north TX I have been to many of the lakes in Texas. My vote would still be Caddo without a doubt or second thought. To wholmes: Thanks for the plug on Greers Ferry Lake. I grew up on that lake, and it is very beautiful. But Caddo really something special.

Possum Kingdom is my home lake for fishing { Hells Gate Bass Club } but I would move to Amistad in a heart beat if I could as it is a beautiful lake.

Going to have to throw in with the Amistad crew. Except for way up Devils Ri. arm, the water is currently the clearest and the bluest I have ever seen and my first trip there was in the early 70's.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!
