Just getting back in town and did a bit of scouting. Fork bass bit pretty well today, I guess they knew the weather was coming. A nice barely over post spawner weighed in at 8-13 as my best (the top picture). First couple hours of the day seems like the best bite right now, with good shallow action. Played it safe and left the lake after the first storms hit. Took care of some business then headed for home, hearing all the tornado warnings on the radio. Wife called and said hail was hitting our home a few miles away in Royse City, so I pulled under a gas station in Union Valley. Bad choice. A policeman pulled in right after that and said a tornado had been spotted down the road and was about to hit. I looked up and saw it off in the distance, figured I could die in a gas station or make a run for it so I stood on the gas pedal all the way back over to Quinlan. The truck shook pretty violently for the first couple of miles, probably a pretty stupid move but fight or flight reflex kicked in and I chose the later. Came back through an hour later and HWY 276 is closed and debris and torn up homes just down from the Union Valley Exxon. Way more excitement than I bargained for today. Hope everyone is ok. Pretty helpless feeling when your family is at home and in harm's way and you can't even get home to them. Thankfully our home was a few miles out of the path of the storm.

I was over there today and we barley dodged the first tornado warned storm in Greenville, then another in Farmersville, then another in Princeton and punched through the hail core of one in McKinney. It got pretty hairy. I downloaded Radar Scope to my phone on the way home and we navigated around all the tornadoes.

Yeah don't go fishing when there might be a storm or tornado's coming in. Always better to be safe. Nice bass though.

Dang TR, glad you made it home to your family safely. And those dirty old cops. They're never around when you need one! (sarcasm)

Glad you made it alright. We had nearly baseball size hail at work today. It was pretty bad.

Glad you are okay. Don't blame you. I ran away today almost too late late.

Just FYI might wanna measure that fish with his mouth closed. I did it like the picture with the mouth open and got a big fat ticket at a tournament. AT FORK TOO!!! Mouth has to be closed. A 23 3/4 inch fish and a 200 dollar ticket later.........I learned my lesson. Thank you Mr. Red Headed game warden..............NOT!
