You can launch from Trophy Club Park, just google it, you'll find it. The boat ramp there empties right into the creek. Or you can try to put in on 377, have to park north of the creek and then drag your boat a couple hundred yards. I may be out there Saturday in my kayak. I'll definitely be somewhere...

This is always a tough call for me ... I seem to have better luck fishing west of 377, but that trek from the parking lot to the creek is a beater even with my yak on a cart. The boat ramp is about as easy as it gets for dropping a yak, but if you are wanting to get past the 377 bridge from there, it is a pretty long paddle. BTW, I would guess that the distance from the parking lot to the creek at 377 is more than 200 yards. And I've found that it is even farther on the return trip back to the parking lot ... LOL

I think I'm going to head there on Friday in my bass buster. Hopefully I'll hook into something.

The best option to put in with a kayak in my opinion is at 377 providing you have a sturdy kayak cart with ratchet straps. Fishing is best west of 377 but there are decent holes just east of 377.

Ok thanks for all info. So is thier any dry spots ill beach before going west of 377. I got a outboard engine for bass hound. I also don't mind kayaking the distance. I used to kayak several miles from fort worth nature center to eagle mountain dam. I dont mind kayaking. But if i dont have to an just sit back hold the throttle an cruzz. Does this place have a lot of structure like vances camp. Fallen trees, stumps or broken down beaver homes.
Is thier any cost to use boat ramp. Oh ya...how far is the furthest point west of 377 bridge to the bridge.

I launched from Trophy Club in my canoe with Trolling motor a few weeks ago. Took 1hr 20 min to make it to 377. Like 3 miles. There's good fishing West but the most popular hole is about 3 miles more. 6 miles one way in a kayak....:). If you have a cart there is an easier answer than parking at the bike parking. Just North of the creek on 377 is 1171. If you turn east on 1171 make an immediate right going back south. You'll see the gravel road that cuts across the corp property. It's actually where they buried pipes and left the road. I launch my canoe there by backing up to the cable and using a cart to walk to the creek. It's a heck of a lot smoother. But it's also much longer.

Thanks for the info ... I love yak'ing west of the 377 bridge, but that trek from the parking lot to the creek is a bear!!

I have never been to Vance's Camp, so I can't compare, but there are a lot of fallen trees, etc. Entrance fee for Trophy Club Park is $1 ... or $5 if you are pulling a trailer. No additional fees for using the ramp. As far as the furthest point west of the 377 bridge, it is about 3 miles or so to the "hole", but the creek runs to 35W and beyond although I don't know how much of that would be accessible by watercraft.

I found some shad just past the 377 bridge and actually was catching the Crappie with them .. Water level has dropped had to run plane to get to hole.. Good luck to everyone..

Was at 377 bridge yesterday, no luck. Any word on the run yet??
I don't always fish for sand bass, but when I do, I fish for them in a horrifyingly violet manner

I hit the bridge for a bit last night after work, same thing. Not a bite. I saw some guys fishing with coke cans or something. Landed something, looked like a small drum from where I was standing, but could have been a sandy.

Fished denton creek near 35w on Saturday afternoon, we only got a couple on roadrunners/white grubs, but we did see this. About 10 fish overall, crappie/sand bass/catfish, and almost all looked below the limit. I saw those there a couple of days later, Dan. Checked them, they were all legal fish. My guess is that someone had a good day of fishing but didn't keep the fish alive or cold long enough to finish out the day and they spoiled. Shame to waste the gamefish, but the angler could at least have disposed of the spoiled catch in a better way. Smelled a bit ripe there... FM
