I passed over the creek yesterday at 35W and it was still running like rapids and muddy way up there. Looked like it needed 3 more days without rain to settle back down.

Made my first run up Denton Creek from the Trophy Club Park Ramp - I didnt have any luck and from appearances neither was anyone else. Saw a few fish being caught - Sandies have not moved up the creek yet. I was surprised at the number of gar in the creek - do they negativley impact the number of fish in the creek?

Caught a few at the henrietta hole Saturday. Saw some other folks catching more than we did; may have been using minnows. Water was up and stained but had a great trip with my son and nephew.

They were up the creek on the last day of Feb. Two of us boated over 60 of them with 48 keepers that day. Put in at Trophy Club and went to the sandbar before the hole and floated back down from there!
"A jerk on one end of the line..."
My boat ain't purdy and may be old, but she still floats!

The fish I have been catching are spawned. I would guess when the water was roaring and muddy ,they were spawning. Johnny

I went last Sunday and the caught several nice white bass full of eggs. The water was very muddy and the bite was slow but we managed to pull 17 nice fish out. I'm hoping to get out this weekend and give it another try. I did not find any crappies. I'm hoping to locate them this weekend.

Yeah, due to the early rise in water temp, the spawn seems to have been much earlier this year. We caught our first limit of the year Jan. 30, and have been steadily catching them since, however over the last 2 weeks or so, it seems that the majority of them have already spawned. Still a few females with eggs here and there, but mostly empty. They are def still in the creek though. Friday night 2 of us fished the honey hole just past the blue hole all night and caught them pretty steadily. My freezer is full of white bass meat though, so its about time to switch over to pullin up crappie...
