For weight capacity and a dry ride the Malibu line of kayaks is hard to beat.

Just remember everything is give or take with a kayak.

You won't find one that will do it all!

Just one more cast!

Currently the web site shows it on sale for $550.
On other forums have read good stuff but I trust you guys more!

I have been all over the board on what water craft to get - I have now decided I will be purchasing 2 yaks so I will have to stay in this price range.
Thanks for all the information - you guys are awesome!

Why are you against buying used? The two links I posted above I found in a five minute search and are both better kayaks than what academy sells and in your price range.

I am not against buying used.
That question was my first post on this thread.
I was merely asking fro opinion of that kayak.
I am looking at all options and was just curious if anyone had experience with that yak.

If $$$ was not an issue I would go for a Hobie with the Mirage drive - but $$$$ is always an issue!

The difference between winners and losers:
Winners blame themselves for their failures and strive to get better.
Losers blame everybody else and give up.
