Good luck getting information from anyone.
I have monitored this website from time to time and found that 95% of the people on this website post their pictures and brag about how many they caught (ie. how big their b@lls are) or what they caught them on and maybe how deep. Sharing information on where to fish is not something people share with some they know or don't know.
Just telling you the truth - as it is seldom heard or told in today's world.

Just telling you the truth - as it is seldom heard or told in today's world. Are you kidding me (ie. how big their b@lls are). Any fisherman worth their salt, and take info like how deep they are being caught, color they are being caught, and go find fish. It is hard for me to believe YOU EXPECT to get on the site, ask WHERE guys are catching fish. Most of the guys spend countless hours building & sinking Brush Piles, or hours logging and running shore line with their Sonars, Side Scans, and Down Scans looking for places to fish. Money on Equipment (Electronics, Boats, Trolling Motors, ETC), Money on Gas to the lake, gas on the lake, time in the hot sun, and time away from their families. Everybody has other things they could be doing, but choose to spend SOME of there extra time trying to figure out where the fish are, or building structures to invite them to a given place, so when it is time, they can go catch a few fish. Hey, we would all like to play more golf, hit a bucket of balls, hit a few balls at the batting cages, or just relax a little more sitting on the couch watching TV. But the guys that are catching fish, are working at it. And are not going to post up infomation, GPS Cords, or anything else that is going to give away locations of possible fish they have found. It amazes me that you get on here, not want to put out any effort, and expect someone to GIVE you locations to catch limits of fish. Then should someone give you a spot, you bring your best buddy out to fish with you, catch fish, then they bring one of their buddies, and on and on, then the fishing hole is burned out. Because you have nothing invested, no time, gas, money, effort, etc, etc. So, please excuse the guys (ie. how big their b@lls are) that don't give out info or GPS Cords to the holes. Their just kind of Chicken Chit that way. You want to get on here and learn something about the sport, then there is guys willing to help all they can. But if you looking for someone to meet you at the boat ramp, and give you a couple of limits of fish, good luck with that. I'm not one of the guys (ie. how big their b@lls are), but I have been helped by most of the people around here. I'm looking for infomation to becomes a better fisherman. I put in a lot of time and energy, but have never ask for a location. I have put in SEVERAL Structures & Condo's, and I would never give away the location of them, but FIND them and there yours. I doubt you will get more than colors, depths, and technique. keith

Keith, I totally agree with you. I have and will always let anyone know such things as depth, colors, time of day or anything other than GPS coordinates. Can't believe anyone would expect more. If I fished creeks I'd even tell which creek but, not give up my honey holes. I'd suggest anyone that wants actual locations hire a good guide and learn a few spots and more importantly how to find what makes a good spot. They make their living teaching others what they have spent years learing by being on the water. Call Chuck Rawlins at bigcrappie.com if you really want to learn about crappie fishing.

That reminds me. Yesterday, a guy from TFF was bass fishing close to me and we started visiting. During the conversation he told me he had caught a good number of crappie the previous night under boathouse lights. I never even considered asking which boat house or anything else, just tucked that info into my memory if I ever decide to night fish. I'm sure he knew I was fishing a condo or brushpile and if he decides to crappie fish, he likely will come back to my spot. No problem. And the same applies to anyone else that shares info..just don't share everything but, be helpful to those out working at catching a few fish.

Kid Fishing you can scout for creeks from home by using Google Earth maps. Good luck and Happy Trails.

Kid Fishing you can buy a lake map and locate the creeks. Acess to them may be a different story. But I certainly agree with everything Keith and the others said above. Hard work and time = fish in the boat. I visit with Chuck R. on the water quite regularly and we always discuss how each other is doing, but I never ask him where he caught them at. I have often told him that if I am fishing an area he needs into just let me know and I will go somewheres else. I am out for a good time he makes his living doing this.

I have been given G.P.S. coordinates on the forum but not from asking, if you are around long enough & pay attention, there is a lot of info given out on this forum. Being a jerk & making childish remarks about people that show you when fish are biting and techniques to catch them is going to get you nowhere. We have a neighbor that my dad is close friends with (mom & dad live next door to my wife & I), my dad has said, "ol Byron sure would like for you to show him how to go out & find some crappie" so I saw Byron at the trash compactor one Saturday & told him, let me know when you want to go out & catch some fish, I'll show you a few spots & how we are catching them, he say's, what are you doing tomorrow? I say nothing, what time do you want to go out? He said oh, me & a friend are going, I was just gonna get you to mark a few spots on my map, I looked him straight in the eye & said, are you serious? You want me to just give you the coords to spots we have built & searched for so you & your fiend and your friends friends can fish them all week while I'm at work and you won't even take me out with you? I was shaking my head as I got back in the truck & drove away, he was still standing there like a deer in headlights. People amaze me.

Kid Fishing, if I wanted to fish creeks, I'd probably go to the King's Creek bridge on hwy 274, south of Kemp, Tx. I see people fishing that creek a lot and have had guides take me up the creek a couple of times. That would be a good place to start and it's easy to find and easy to get to the creek. It's the main feeder creek for the lake. That's the only one I know anything about and that ain't much!

All, I just wanted to add something here. I am from Arkansas(moved here for work) and have been crappie fishing Lake of the Pines for the past couple of months. I have to says that all of the fishermen I have run into on this lake have been some of the nicest people I have ever run into on a Lake. I ususally break the ice but after that they have all been helpful and sharing. I really enjoy fishing around here. Good Luck
