800 KHZ: 1.58 deg x 31.75 deg
455 KHZ: 2.79 deg x 55.82 deg

That is some great info to know....THANKS!

But how they get sound to behave like that is what I don't understand.

Lowrance Announces StructureScan HD LSS-2 New module and new transducer that gives you greater range in shallow water and greater resolution.

http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/StructureScan-HD/

If you watch at the end of the video it says that if you have the LSS-1 (which I have only owned for 2 weeks) that I can change out the transducer to LSS-2 and get more range and resolution.

Don't get your hopes up on that one. The Lowrance man, Jason says you will get more range but as far as better resolution you need the lss2. Yeah I know what Lowrance said because I saw the video too, but I believe the person that has actually used them. I won't be rushing out and buying a lss2 until I see some real world results that show an improvement. Very dissappointed with this new lss2 combo, the freaking ducer is 10 inches long and so far the pics I have seen aren't any better than the lss1. Yes they are wider but whoopie, might as well buy a Humminbird. bang

Allan, you want to post some of your pics? Yours, not Dougs! I'll challenge your bird pics vs the Lowrance pics.

Running down birds? Nope I'm one of the few that can admit each has it's pros & cons. Now the 360 thing, not so sure about it. The new LSS2, not so sure about it either.

LMAO, I just did that to mess with ya. I see you runnin down bird's on all the forums. I don't try to convince people that what I have is better, and don't do the whole ford /chevy thing either. If you like what you have then your all set.

Nope I've seen alot better than mine but I don't spend alot of time jacking with it like Doug does (nobody sponsors me bang), thats the beauty of Lowrance. So Allan you're bound to have at least one pic you can post. By the way, you are dissing Lowrance on the Lowrance page, at least you can back up a little bit of why you think the bird is better. That might be in the form of a pic?

You might need to read my post again, nowhere have been "dissing" on Lowrance. Sorry no pics, I use mine for fishing. Once again I couldn't care less what brand people use.

I agee they both have their strong points.

What exactly are you adding to the Lowrance post? This is one of the few post on the internet that is constructive. Go troll somewhere else. And this response doesn't need a comeback.

I've learned the best way to shut them up is by posting a pic of what the LSS can do. I use mine for fishing too but I like to record to the sd card and playback something I might have missed, hence I take pics of the cool stuff. I've only seen 3 guys that can work the bird to it's maximum potential, 2 of those guys post here regularly (bird forum of course). They can mess with anybody they want, I'm not sponsored by anybody and don't care what anybody buys but I'll help a fellow Lowrance brother out whenever I can. But in the end talk is cheap and a pic is worth 1,000 words.

Anybody know how long it takes to get a unit back from Lowrance ?
I have an HDS 10 that will not get pasted loading after installing the new software so Im going to have to send it back to Lowrance for repairs.
