I'm good friends with the FW District Commander and trust me, no decision they make is popular. If you'd like to know why they're not letting the lake fill, call the Corps office at Pines and ask.

But you're bitchin about the lake being a little low after the drought of the past couple of years. Seriously?

I drove across the 155 bridge about an hour a go & Pines loooks a million times better than it did a week ago & their is still water pouring in from all the creeks, whether they hold it or not I don't know, but it is raising right now.

Yes, I went out to the 155 marina today, and it does look better. We'll see if they hold it or dump it.

I'm generally down on anything the federal government does, but even I can't slam the COE! Where would modern fishing be without those guys and gals?

I dont know if it is true, but a friend told me when their lakes are above the planned lake level the entities that take water Citys CO OP ect. dont have to pay for the water. Several years ago we got a petition together and sent it to the guy over Navarro Mills. He sent us a form letter that said Cor lakes where for flood control not fishing. They kill the crappie fishing every year.

Like spending millions of tax payer money refurbishing a park during a record drought, but leaving the boat ramp, which is the biggest draw completely alone, and that has to be shut down when the lake drops below six feet.

Planning isn't one of their strong points!

And now they are going to release Zebra Mussel water from Lavon into Ray Hubbard. What's up with that?

I just read where there were no zebra mussels in Lavon, even if they were in the lake if it gets over the pool level or floods then water from Lavon will go into Ray Hubbard. I also read where a boat from Texoma with zebras on it was found in hubbard two years ago. was

Just read Casey Allisons post on this same general topic. There are ZM's in Lavon.
