I just use a $1.00 length of rope and tie to a stump. Has worked well for the last 30 years.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

I just use a $1.00 length of rope and tie to a stump. Has worked well for the last 30 years. What if you are on a flat or point with no stumps or timber? Anchor - loud, messy and a pain in the bum Rope in timber - works but not as convenient or quick as a PP, plus if it's windy you have to bend down to tie to lower stumps. I have seen many folks fall in doing this. BUT.. To each his own! Some guys love em some guys don't. As long as we are fishing, who cares

I just use a $1.00 length of rope and tie to a stump. Has worked well for the last 30 years. Come on man ... I know you are dieing to go out and spend $4000 on a couple of new Blades. In all seriousness though, I was wishing I had them today. We were fishing the back of a cove and getting blown around by the wind. Those Blades would have really helped me pick it apart.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

This is like saying the following. Not directed to OP, pm me if I can help ya out!
I didn't have the right lug nuts for my truck wheel so I used something that looked like it would work, for a while at least.
As I drove down the road my when fell off.
When that happened it tore my fender up breaking my shock.
Man you should have bought a Goodyears why are you going to buy a new set of the same Coopers? Possibly one of the worst analogies that I've ever read but it sure is entertaining to watch you freak out over the criticism.
