No, I don't think you are so wrong, but seeing how the level will go down in a few days. I think a person could live with a little extra water a few times a year.

How about the last year that just about everyone on CC had to walk 20'-30' past the end of their docks, to step in water. All ramps were closed, except for 1 or 2, businesses went out of business due to no one was coming to there shops, due to not being able to get on the water. Just a few of the things that the Low Levels caused. But, they are RELEASING 14,199 CFS to help with your problem.

If we could number the lakes, and only get rain on selected numbers, then you would not be so wrong. But since we can't, it seems a little Short Visioned when many places in the state are still short of water.

Guess it is just a difference of opinion. But that's Ok, we all have one. Your's is as good as anyone else's.

Keith, We all dealt with low water levels last year. You act like CC was the only lake. I just seriously doubt you would have the same "More rain, more rain" attitude if CC was 5.5 ft high and the boat docks were under water.

I think it is great that Granger is almost 3 feet above full. Hope the COE keeps it that way since they are building a new water pumping station to distribute water to all the small cities that are quickly becoming larger cities in the area. We all bitch when it rains and then bitch when it doesn't. Human nature to complain about something always.

Keep on fishing.

Some of us in this part of TX are praying you all get a huge turd floater too. Hate seeing any lake go dry.

Keep on fishing.

I hope your homes do not flood and your thoughts are appreciated. Fishing is minor sometimes depending on what you are facing.

I know we all dealt with low water if you live in Texas. I personally don't own a Boat Dock, but I am smart enough to know that if the water was up 5'.5" above full pool, they would be releasing water as fast as they could to fix the problem. So I would live with the issue and give the Corp a little time to work on the problem. But, I WOULDN'T be whining about the 1st rain that got the water level to full pool because it bothered my already locating a few fish.

I fish a little bit at CC, but also some at Palestine and Fork. So I have no ties to CC. I work 3 differeent lakes, so I am always relocating fish, and looking for where they have moved.

So basically to your question: "I just seriously doubt you would have the same "More rain, more rain" attitude if CC was 5.5 ft high and the boat docks were under water." Absolutely Not ! ! ! The only problem I MIGHT/WOULD have is if my Dock was being destroyed due to the High Water. But if that were the cause, I wouldn't be whining about having to relocate the fish.

So, don't lump me into your group. I may complain, but never about having to refind fish, or the 1st rain that got the lake to full pool. Plus the lake ISN'T 5 1/2' over Pool. The Corp is releasing the 2nd most water at CC in the state at this time. So don't be playing "WHAT IF" to try to prove some point.

The Corps lakes have a priority in the Trinity watershed. Recreation is a fabulous byproduct of somethig built for the protection of life and property. They will not release any more water than the Trinity can hold within its banks. Slips built in the flood control plain are there with the understanding of being flooded during heavy rain.

In three to four years, you will see the good that this high water did. The fish that are so hard to find will survive and the fry will be able to bury up in those weeds and have a greater survival rate.
